Certification Overview

Two-Day Master DISC Certification Program

This program is designed to equip trainers with an in-depth understanding of DISC Behavioral Styles. We train on so much more than just the High D, I, S and C. We educate you on the Low DISC styles, varying intensities, combination styles and adaptations, both strategic and reactive. You will leave with the knowledge and confidence to apply the DISC methodology to leadership development, team effectiveness, communication strategies, coaching, hiring, and sales. We provide you with all the resources that you need to facilitate sessions: Power Point presentations, facilitator notes, participant materials and exercise worksheets along with the rights to customize and reproduce the materials to suit your needs (the facilitator kit alone is a $900+ value). Strategies and models to successfully implement DISC in your organization or training practice will be discussed. You will have access to a number of advanced DISC assessments through Data Dome.

Classes are kept small ( under 12) to encourage and allow for personal interaction, sharing of relevant examples, and discussing customized applications. You receive time with the instructor during your exam review to gain additional knowledge and discuss implementation strategies.

The training is insightful, engaging, and fun. Participants consistently say they walk away with more than they ever expected from the program.

Personal Call with the Instructor

The most important thing to Data Dome is that you leave the session having received more than you ever anticipated. We set up a one-on-one call with the instructor to understand how you will be implementing DISC and your greatest needs so we can ensure they are covered in the two days. We review the process, discuss the pre-work, and make sure all your questions have been answered.

Session Pre-Work

Participants are asked to complete pre-work for the session. The objective is for each person to come to the session having a basic background and understanding of DISC Behavioral Styles. This will allow the class to start with the same knowledge base and keep discussions moving at a consistent pace.

Includes: Completing a personal DISC Assessment, reading the Universal Language DISC Reference Manual, and completing an Online Study Guide

Two Day Agenda

Day One

The day starts with introductions, allowing participants to best understand their classmates and form connections that often go beyond the class. The facilitator resource manual will be reviewed (over 100 pages of great resources), as will the materials and agenda for the program. A “mini” DISC workshop will be demonstrated utilizing the materials the participants will receive. This allows participants to see the program delivered and gives the class an extended base of knowledge. Throughout the two days, the study guide and the resource manual will be used to educate the class in advanced DISC knowledge. Day one ends with DISC graph reading to prepare the participants for completing homework that evening.

Examples of some of the items discussed:

  • DISC defined – the 8 dimensions of DISC
  • DISC dynamics – similarities and differences
  • Strengths and limitations of each style
  • Understanding of the Low DISC styles
  • Intensities and behavioral combinations
  • Energy line and unusual graphs
  • Recognizing styles and adapting for effective communication
  • Blending different styles – behavioral style match, challenges, strategies
  • Style Interactions – what’s important, triggers, and needs
  • DISC wheel – descriptors and graph placement
  • Graph Reading and Interpretations

Day Two

The day starts with answering participant questions or insights they had from day one and then a review of the objectives and agenda for day two. Then the participants will finish the graph-reading portion of the study guide that was started in day one along with a discussion on the application in Leadership, Team, Sales, Hiring, and Coaching settings. The participants will be taken through a full review of the numerous exercises that could be utilized in a DISC training with a focus on understanding the purpose and best application(s) of the exercise. They will also review the assessment report types that are available, their application, and the online assessment system set-up. The participants are given an overview of the certification exam and given time to complete it in class as the last agenda item of day two.

Examples of some of the items discussed:

  • The 24 most common graphs – tendencies, strengths, improving effectiveness
  • Adaptations – both strategic and reactive
  • Workplace Motivators – review six factors and how they relate to DISC
  • Presentation and facilitator notes
  • Participant materials, exercises, and worksheets
  • Group graphs, wheels, and natural graph name tents
  • Agendas, program applications, and customization
  • DISC reports and assessments available
  • IDS set-up and functionality

DISC Certification Exam – is open book and will be taken and reviewed at the end of day two. If additional time is needed to review we will set up a post-session call with the instructor. After passing the exam your certification certificate will be mailed to you.
