In leadership development, a common question is around how to best motivate our people? The Motivators and Driving Forces certification helps provide an answer to that question from two approaches: the first is by helping a leader to become self-aware around his or her own motivators and seeing how these are different for every individual and the second is helping the leader get to know his or her team better. The Motivators/Driving Forces report is straight-forward and provides a good depth of insight to serve as a handy tool in gaining relevant insight. Working from home during this pandemic has proved to have many challenges. In 2017-18, BME Associates engaged Data Dome for a Leadership Development Program for our management team.  This was an important time in our company as the founding partners were retiring and it was time for the next level to step up into leadership positions.  The nine month program we completed with Data Dome provided a rounded comprehensive program that effectively engaged our team and has had lasting, positive effects on our company.  The program allowed our team to understand each other through 360 profiles and workplace motivators, and provided excellent guidance for improved communication between the personalities that make up our team. Most importantly, the program completed this within the thriving established culture of our firm.  Our success is a result of our culture, and Data Dome was able to shape the leadership training to work within our culture. This is why it has been such a huge success as it did not attempt for a wholesale change in behavior, but for us to improve ourselves within our own personalities. It is not that they ask you to change, but it gave you insight into how to understand others.  We believe that is why this training has stuck and that there has been recognizable improvement and collaboration between our management team.   

Our fear going into any program is that will it stick; will it accomplish meaningful change.  This fear has not been realized as change has occurred. This was accomplished through both individual coaching sessions, but more effectively was group sessions.  This allowed individuals to insert themselves into other’s situations and gain understanding. Data Dome did an excellent job in facilitating these exercises, which yield significant benefits for all participants.

We would recommend Data Dome for any organization that is looking to take their leadership and management to the next level.  They do a great job upfront getting to know your organization and listening to your needs. This allows them to formulate the training program to meet your specific needs based upon their knowledge and experience.  This is a huge component of why their program is so successful. Finally, the follow-up during and after the program is exceptional. We have brought them back for “tune-ups” or for specific projects, and all have had the same level of success.  Data Dome remains a valuable consultant to our company to this day.

In updating one of our training programs, we identified the need to implement a fresh module that would equip our leaders with the necessary tools to gain comfort in having those dreaded difficult conversations. Time and again, this skill is noted by senior leaders as critical for a manager to be successful. We met with several vendors to determine what was available. Upon meeting with Lisa and the Data Dome team, we quickly realized that their Productive Conflict program was the perfect option for us! Having worked with Data Dome in the past, we knew this partnership would be successful from the first phone call.

Their team did an exceptional job to ensure we got the necessary materials in our hands so that we could begin reviewing them prior to our extremely detailed train the trainer sessions. Instead of giving us the materials and saying “good luck”, their team coordinated schedules and setup virtual training for each specific module. During those sessions, Lisa walked us through the program step-by-step and gave specific examples on how she has delivered that section in the past. That gave us a sufficient understanding of the materials but she also took it a step further. She challenged our team to provide relevant examples of how we would deliver the message to ensure it would resonate with our intended audience. I speak for my team and will honestly say that was the game changing moment that it clicked for all of us!

After completing the train the trainer sessions, we delivered the lesson during our training program a week later and our confidence level was through the roof! It truly felt as if we had been delivering this content for years. Not only was our confidence level high going into the training, we immediately saw the ah-ha moments that we desired when we originally identified the training gap that was missing in our program.
